About Yogic Philosophy - Yamas & Niyamas:

The yoga mindfulness course introduces the yogic philosophy of the Yamas & Niyamas, also known as the ethical guidelines and moral code of yoga. The Yamas and Niyamas form the basis of yogic thought and invite the practitioner to explore their inner world. The course utilises the short book ‘Yamas & Niyamas’ by Deborah Adele which takes the ancient philosophy of the Yamas & Niyamas and makes it relevant to the modern-day yoga practitioner.

Yoga is a way of life and the mindfulness courses show you how to apply yoga in all aspects of your life.

Course Overview:

The course is facilitated by Western Wellness studio owner and Life Coach Stuart Harrison. The course meets for 90 minutes each week and includes reflective discussion, group activities and meditation practices.

Homework: Each week you will read a short chapter in the course book and apply a mindfulness exercise to your life for one week, when the course next meets there will be a debrief about your experience. We encourage you to keep a reflection journal throughout the course and participate in the reflection discussion (optional) to get the most out of the experience.

No previous yoga or meditation experience is required.

We offer two different Mindfulness courses that cover different content. Choose to attend both courses or only one. You can choose to start in either course.

Make-Up Classes: If you miss a day, Stuart is available to catch up prior to the start of every class to review missed content (by prior arrangement).

Yoga Teacher Gradates & Trainees:

If you have already completed the Yamas & Niyamas content as part of Diploma or Certificate programs, we encourage you to complete this course and revisit your learning.

Professional Development: You will receive a certificate of participation and can log 10 hours of professional development in yogic philosophy after completing this course.
