Master of Yoga Teacher Training (500 hours)

At Western Wellness you become more than a teacher, you become a Master of Yoga.

Our Yoga Alliance Accredited Programs allow you to specialise in areas of key demand for Yoga Teachers such as, Hatha & Vinyasa, Yin & Relaxation, Trauma Informed, Pre & Post Natal Yoga.  Master of Yoga students first graduate with the Advanced Diploma of Yoga Qualification then complete three majoring electives, this means you get four separate Qualifications for the price of one! Delivered part-time, 5 hours per week over 12 months, Students have the option of attending training onsite in person or attending remotely online in a self-paced environment. Our program is extremely flexible and family friendly and can be easily completed by students who work full-time and have children.

The Master of Yoga program is designed for students who would like to become a multi-disciplined practitioner advancing their career pathway or for students who wish to broaden their arears of study within specialty groups.  Students have the option to complete the Master program (electives) at the conclusion of their Advanced Diploma course, or to revisit the elective modules after taking a break from study.

Elective Modules – Master of Yoga Program: 

50 Hour Certificate of Yin & Relaxation

Yin is a modern style of yoga that focuses on stretching our deep connective tissue, facia and joints.

Yin embraces the ancient wonder of traditional Taoist teachings of Yin & Yang as opposing, yet balancing forces in our lives. Yin is a unique practice that differs in its approach to traditional asana. The primary approach is on stressing the connective tissues (joints, ligaments, and tendons) working to create myofascial releases through long held posture. This certificate covers all aspects of teaching Yin yoga inclusive of philosophy, postures, sequencing and dealing with contraindications.

50 Hour Certificate of Pregnancy Yoga

Our pregnancy course provides comprehensive training to teach teaching students through their pregnancy as well as post-partum support

This purpose of this elective is to provide a comprehensive overview of teaching yoga for pregnancy.  Incorporating a modern “calm birthing” approach, this course will review the anatomy and theory of yoga for pregnancy focuses on the needs of both mum and baby through the trimesters. The course further examines how yoga can improve the overall health of mother and baby during pregnancy and the initial postpartum period, inclusive of post-natal yoga exercises to help with the recovery from birth

50 Hour Certificate of Trauma Informed Yoga

Be qualified to teach students who present with complex mental health concerns as well as psychological injury and trauma

The purpose of this elective is to understand the healing power of yoga within the context of psychological trauma. The elective focuses on developing the knowledge and skills required to work with students presenting with and physical and psychological injuries with an emphasis on understating how trauma impacts the body and the mind.

50 Hour Certificate of Restorative Yoga

The purpose of this elective is to understand the healing power of yoga within the context of developing a restorative practice.  The elective focuses on developing the knowledge and skills required to teach students who may present with physical injuries with an emphasis on understating how a restorative approach to yoga can assist the healing process.

50 Hour Certificate of Mindfulness Coaching

The purpose of this elective is to develop the skill set for facilitating individual coaching and mentoring of mindfulness-based practise. Adapting the ethical practices of the “Yama's and Niyama's” and vipassana based meditation techniques, yoga teachers will learn how to mentor students to incorporate mindfulness practices into their daily lives to archive personal outcomes centred around their health and wellbeing.
