Yoga Teaching Apprenticeship

Western Wellness is the only training provider in Australia to offer paid teaching apprenticeships to its Graduates. Select Graduates are offered employment as a contract teacher on an ongoing basis at the completion of their studies. This means you can enrol in our Advanced Diploma of Yoga Program with the confidence that your first career goal of gaining employment as a teacher has already been achieved. Applicants do not need to have previous yoga experience to apply, however places in the apprenticeship program are strictly limited. 

 

Our Yoga Apprenticeship Program is split into three phases.

Phase 1:

Enrol in our Advanced Diploma of Yoga Program to become an accredited Yoga Teacher.

Phase 2:

Once certified, commence on the job induction training, co-facilitating public classes at the Western Wellness Centre

Phase 3:

Once inducted, be deployed as a part time instructor teaching 2-4 classes per week across the studio network, as well as participating in ongoing mentoring & development. 

 

Starting your career with Western Wellness means that you are trained and mentored to the highest standard in the industry and will be qualified to teach all class types taught at Western Wellness inclusive specialty classes such as Yoga All Levels, Yoga HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), Yin & Relaxation and Pregnancy yoga.    

 

Application & Assessment Process:

·      Enrol in the Advanced Diploma of Program (Hybrid in person)

·      Complete the apprenticeship enrolment form & and submit your CV with 2 employment referees

·      Attend an online or face to face 30-minute interview

·      Once an offer has been made Graduates will need to obtain, their level 2 first aid certificate, Public Liability Insurance and an ABN or us their existing ABN   

 

Employment as a Contract Yoga Teacher: 

·      Graduates commence an initial 12 weeks of induction training completing the (50 hour) advanced facilitation course inclusive of the following modules.

-        Weekly mentoring sessions

-        Co-facilitating public classes

-        Advanced adjusting techniques

-        Customer service and site operation training

·      Upon completing of the induction course, graduates are assigned (2-4 classes) to teach weekly

·      Graduates are first deployed as “all levels” teachers first and can cross train to specialist classes after 3 months of engagement

·      Post induction, graduates engage in monthly mentoring sessions and inhouse professional development workshops as required.

 

Remuneration:  

·      Contract Teachers can expect to earn $5,000-10,000 PA on a part time basis
